The China (Shaanxi – Ethiopia Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference held in Addis Ababa

A high level Chinese business delegation led by the department of Commerce of Shaanxi province met with local businesses from Ethiopia. In an event held at Sheraton Addis Hotel, high profile government figures from Ethiopia and China made their presence and among those dignitaries include Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ministry of Regional Trade and Integration, Ethiopian Investment Commission, Business members and senior officials from Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association, Charge d’Affairs ad interim of the People’s Republic of China to Ethiopia, Shaanxi Provincial Peoples Government and department of Commerce where in attendance.

Business and investment opportunities and potentials of Ethiopia, current economic reform measures and incentives such as the Home Grown Economic Reform Agenda have been highlighted by senior figures from the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC). The conference also hailed Ethiopia’s role in BRICS, FOCAC and current initiatives and commitment to unleash the potential of Belt and Road Initiatives.

Multiples of Chinese investors from Shaanxi Province that are drawn from construction, pharmaceuticals, auto manufacturers, mining and geology and environmental, protection technology companies displayed and promoted their products and services to local businesses to find out partners and market opportunities in Ethiopia.

Besides to these the Ethiopia Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference is landmark event whereby Shaanxi Automobile Group ( Shachman) , a leading international vehicle company solution provider and Beaeka General Business signed the first batch of order contracts.
Subsequent to those keynote address, a business to business networking sessions were held between Chinese investors and Ethiopian businesses.

The two countries have forged vibrant trade and investment cooperation whereby the China has remained to be the leading sources of FDI to Ethiopia investing billions of USD in Ethiopia supporting the national development and job creation, infrastructure development.
