President of Addis Chamber and Ethiopian Ambassador to Qatar Discuss to Strengthen Trade and Investment

As part of its ongoing reform program, the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations(Addis Chamber) is taking bold measures to strengthen partnerships based on mutual interests and cooperation, with a particular focus on expanding trade and investment opportunities.

In line with these efforts, President of Addis Chamber, Mrs. Zehara Mohammed, held productive discussions with the Ethiopian Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Feysel Aliye Ibrahim, at the Embassy of Ethiopia in Doha, focusing on ways to promote trade and investment between Ethiopia and Qatar.

During the meeting, President Zehara commended the Embassy of Ethiopia in Qatar for its commitment and continued efforts to enhance trade and investment relations between businesses of the two countries.

“Our Chamber is keen to solidify collaboration and unlock new opportunities for growth, trade & investment.

We will work closely with the Ethiopian Embassy to enhance business-to-business relations and explore the diverse opportunities both countries have to offer,” Mrs. Zehara said.

For his part, H.E. Ambassador Feysel Aliye Ibrahim expressed his appreciation for the meeting with the President of Addis Chamber and emphasized the Embassy’s commitment to unlocking the business potential that exists between Ethiopia and Qatar.

The Ambassador also encouraged Ethiopian businesses to take advantage of the market opportunities available in Qatar and the wider region, noting the potential for stronger commercial engagement and mutually beneficial partnerships.

The discussions also explored practical areas of cooperation, including addressing challenges related to access to business information; supporting and facilitating business-to-business meetings and linkages; and sharing, exchanging, and disseminating information on trade and investment opportunities with Addis Chamber members.

Such cooperation is expected to enable businesses to access timely and relevant market information, establish stronger partnerships, and make informed decisions on trade and investment opportunities in Qatar and Ethiopia.
