Secretary General of Addis Chamber Mr. Zekarias Assefa and Slovak Ambassador to Ethiopia Rastislav Kriszan held talks aims at strengthening ties between institutions in order to foster business and investment.
During talks held at the premises of Addis Chamber, Mr. Zekarias highlighted existing opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, technology, and green business. It was noted that energy and the green economy are among the major policy priorities of the government, and that combining Ethiopia’s vast resources with Slovakia’s technological expertise creates a solid foundation for cooperation. Slovak companies therefore have a favourable chance to engage in technology, renewable energy development, and knowledge transfer. As part of its contribution to the national agenda, the Chamber has established a Green Growth Centre aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the business community.
Ambassador Kriszan stated that Slovak companies possess extensive experience in green technology and renewable energy, making these sectors highly promising for collaboration between Ethiopian and Slovak businesses. He further noted that Slovakia is in the process of re‑establishing its diplomatic mission in Addis Ababa, a move expected to serve as a critical foundation for deeper economic cooperation.
Deputy Secretary General of Addis Chamber, Mr. Kasshun Mamo, said the Chamber has been working tirelessly on business promotion activities, including organizing international trade fairs and business matchmaking platforms where local and foreign businesspeople meet, discuss business, explore new markets and exchange market information. He underlined that Addis Chamber is ready to jointly initiate such platforms for the benefit of both sides.
