The 27th Addis Chamber International Trade Fair (ACITF) has successfully concluded, inviting businesses to engage in upcoming trade fairs

Addis Chamber, April 27, 2026: This year, ACITF which lasted from April 23-25, 2026, attracted hundreds of exhibitors from Ethiopia and around the world, making it one of the country’s promotional events. The final part of the event included certifications and a symposium focused on the competitiveness of the export sector with due emphasis on coffee sector.

With the theme “Enhancing the Competitiveness of Ethiopian Export Sector with Special Emphasis on Coffee”, a symposium was staged hosting Mr. Gizat Worku, Executive Director of the Ethiopian Coffee Association, who emphasized on the importance of promoting Ethiopia’s endemic coffee varieties to enhance the country’s competitive edge internationally. He highlighted that continuous promotional campaigns, quality improvements, increased sales, and the inclusion of green coffee beans in export packaging are vital for competitiveness.

The report also addressed key factors impacting competitiveness, such as institutional capacity, lack of policy focus on global market dynamics, limited policy support, gaps in market information, and packaging limitations. Policymakers have proposed complementary policy support to address these issues.

Moderated by Mr. Zekarias Assefa, Secretary General from Addis Chamber, participants of the symposium raised several points, which received clarifications and detailed responses from the speaker.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation, the Chamber leadership calls on foreign and local businesses to take part in the upcoming trade fair that will be expected to be held in 2027.

The closing ceremony concluded with awards presented to exhibitors and partners who contributed to the success of the 27th edition of ACITF.
