Argentina business tender would open up opportunities to Ethiopian businesspeople to explore more markets opportunities and experiences of the western hemisphere, Said Mesnbet Shenkut, president of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rosario Chamber of Commerce , 29 November 2018, Addis Ababa.
The MoU would further facilitate trade and investment in a sustainable manner. The series of political and economic reforms being undertaken by the Ethiopian government are favorable opportunities for doing business with Ethiopia vis-à-vis the rest of the world. Therefore , Argentine companies should take advantage of the same, said Mesnbet.
‘Now we can start business’ said Lic Guilermo Beccani, President the Rosario Chamber of Commerce after signing the document. The event marks a turning point in building confidence among private actors of the two sides, Beccani Added. Gustavo Teodoro Grippo, Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Ethiopia said on the occasion that Argentine companies will offer agricultural machineries, medicines, spare parts, plastic wares and wines to the Ethiopian markets. Commerce between the two countries has grown 10 folds over the five years. Argentina’s major cities including Rosario are favorable market spots for Ethiopian traditional food and beverage, Grippo noted. The 9-articled MoU, among other things including sharing and dissemination market information and promoting trade fairs between the two sides. Corn, Soybeans, Gold Wheat are Argentinian’s major commodities to the world markets, it was noted.
