This was disclosed during the briefing session made to Addis Chamber by Government Procurement Authority.
Senior officials of the two organizations have exchanged ideas to enhance partnership and concerning automated procurement services that was convened at the premises of the authority.
In his briefing Haji Ibsa, Director General of Ethiopian Procurement Authority said that Addis Chamber is one of the key strategic partners to advocate electronic procurement to the wider business communities.
He further said that several countries of the world have abandoned traditional way of procurement that in turn resulted in significantly reducing corrupt practices and public embezzlement.
Such countries have managed to save their expenses from 5-to 25 percent of their total budget added Haji Ibsa. In recent years the number of organizations who uses public procurement through the newly established service is rising in Ethiopia that resulted in saving their time and money, said Haji.
Zekarias Assefa Deputy secretary of Addis Chamber on his part stated the readiness of Addis Chamber to advocate electronic procurement to its members with various platforms.
Senior experts of the authority also made briefings how procurement service is provided virtually.
