Addis Chamber Visits Women's Rehabilitation & Skill Dev't Center

The Board of Directors and management team of Addis Chamber led by the President, has paid a visit to Yenegewa Women’s Rehabilitation and Skill Development Center established by the Addis Ababa City Administration.

The Center, located in Akaki Kaliti Sub City on a 10-hectare plot, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to offer a wide range of services aimed at rehabilitating the livelihoods and transforming the skills of vulnerable women across the city and the country.

The center is meant for supporting vulnerable women and girls through providing skill trainings on textile and garment, catering, hair dressing, and bakery ,  explained, center managing director Hirpassa Chala (PhD).

The visiting team   has also spent time to see facilities such as library, gymnasium, pharmacy, clinic, workshops and psychiatry centers.

The center has accommodated some four hundred women at a time and includes skill development hubs, psychological counseling and mental health services, training centers, and recreational spaces.

The institution is not only rehabilitating women in difficulties, but empowering them to become   self-reliant and productive in the future, said Addis chamber president Zehara Mohammed.

The Chamber is willing to work together with the center in different economic sectors, she added.
