The latest trade mission intends to carry out the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) back in 2017 between Addis Chamber and the Zambian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Addis Ababa, October 25, 2024: Turning 60th years of independence anniversary, the Republic of Zambia is one of those African nations to forge ties with Ethiopia. The rich mineral nation, Zambia opened its embassy in 1965 soon after gaining its independence. Now the two nations are aspiring to reinvigorate their economic cooperation and the latest trade mission of Zambia to Ethiopia is case in point. Hosted by Zambian Embassy and Addis Chamber, teams of delegation comprising the Zambian Development Agency, Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development and Ministry of Small and Medium Businesses, the Zambian trade mission convened with key ministerial offices and representatives of businesses from Ethiopia. “This is a land mark event held between Ethiopia and Zambia, that reflects a long standing cooperation with common vision even for the African continent”, said Rose Kashembe Sakala, Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and UNECA in her keynote address during the forum. Addressing the forum, Dagato Kolcha, Deputy Commissioner from Ethiopian Investment Commission, emphasizes the commitment of the governments of the two nations to enhance economic ties as well as in peace and security issues, adding on this the Dagato went on to say that Ethiopia’s fast pace of industrialization can be viewed as big opportunity to unleash the mineral potentials of Zambia.
