(Addis Ababa፣ April 17፣ 2023) Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (Addis Chamber) is going to officially launch/ inaugurate its Business innovation center/BIC/ on April 24, 2023 at the Capital Hotel, Addis Ababa.
The project funded by the European Union has an ambition to strengthen the Ethiopian start-up and SME incubation eco-system in order to create job, increased growth, prosperity, innovation and jobs.
BIC focuses on promoting and supporting entrepreneurship and micro-small and medium sized enterprises (MSMES) in the Agri-sector and hybrid agri-tech sector in Ethiopia.
It has also the objectives to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship in Ethiopia, create market linkages, provide capacity building and allocate seed money for start-ups are to mention a few.
The project has a fund of more than 20 million Ethiopian Birr to address 500 start-up entrepreneurs in the coming 4 years.
The project and its activities align strongly with the Ethiopian’s government to improve the eco-system for start-up and to improve the general business environment.
Senior Government officials, Policy makers, representatives of the development partners, chamber’s Board of directors and its management, business community, members of the press and various stakeholders will attend the launching ceremony.
A panel discussion will be held entitled on ‘Unlocking opportunities from Business Innovation Centers’ presenting by different practitioners.
This upcoming ceremony will create the platform for all stakeholders to meet and discuss business and investment opportunities in the country.
The consortium partners includes- GIZ, SEQUA, ADELPHI, GROWTH AFRICA, Menschen fur Menschen & Icehawassa.
