A team of delegation led by Vice President of Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce held a joint meeting with the presence of officials from Ethiopian Investment Commission, Board of Directors & Senior management of Addis Chamber and representatives of businesses from the two cities.
Leaders of the two entities have also signed a joint agreement.

The business meeting that was held for half a day was accompanied with opening remarks from Ambassador Zinabu Yirga , Deputy commissioner of Ethiopian Investment Commission, and Zekarias Assefa, A/ Secretary General from Addis Chamber.
In his remark, Ambassador Zinabu attributes the current macro-economic reform measures of Ethiopia in creating conducive investment opportunity.
He further called upon Chinese investors to do business in manufacturing, agro processing pharmaceuticals, textile and ICT sectors.
Mentioning that trade volume between China and Ethiopia to hit 7 billion USD and the trade balance in favor of the former , yet much remains to be done to align the balance , remarks Mr. Zekarias Assefa, A/Secretary General from Addis Chamber.
In his keynote address to the joint meeting, Mr. Wang Vice president of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce expresses the interest of Chinese businesses to unleash the investment potentials and opportunities in Ethiopia & at the same time expresses the interest of Shanghai Federation of Industry & Commerce to facilitate a business platform at Shanghai, China.
Business delegates from Shanghai and local business attendants from Ethiopia have presented business and investment opportunities in their respective companies.
Some of those companies presented are construction, engineering, logistics & tourism sectors.
