Addis Chamber Inks MoU with Dakar Chamber of Commerce

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce & Sectoral Associations (Addis Chamber) signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Dakar to work in partnership, December 12 , 2024 in Dakar , Senegal.
Mrs.Mesenbet Shenkute (president of the Addis chamber) and Mr. Abdoulayi Sow (President of the Dakar Chamber) put their signage to the MoU.
The intents of the agreement included promoting trade and investment between the two countries.
A team of Addis Chamber’s delegation is warmly welcomed by the Ethiopian Ambassador in Dakar, Amb. Melaku Legesse.
Ambassador Melaku during the signing ceremony said that Ethiopia and Senegal are countries with long years of diplomatic relations. The relations between the two nations is founded on the spirit of Pan-Africanism which enabled the establishment of OAU/AU, he said.
Mesenbet Shenkute on her part said that Ethiopia and Senegal have longstanding relations and In spite of all these good beginnings however, the current trade and economic relations between the two countries is not to the satisfactory level.
This kinds of partnership will unlock Africa’s economic potentials notably by interconnecting businesses in both countries, she said.
Mr. Abdoulayi Sow , President of Dakar chamber said the agreement is critical in strengthening cooperation, information sharing in general and closely working in some selected sector in particular.
Both Chambers agreed that partnership is crucial for mutual benefit. Addis Chamber is one of the oldest chambers of commerce in Africa and member of the international Chamber of Commerce serving close to 80 years supporting the business community in terms of voicing the Issues of our membership, advocating for policy revisions and dialogues in order to achieving better business climate that help business thrive.
